About the Chef

Chef Cathy Barbeauld Sinkeus is founder and owner of It’s Dinner Thyme Personal Chef Service.

"Some of my fondest memories involve cooking with my Mom.  I remember standing by her side in the kitchen, where her love for food and cooking seemed to fill our home.  Together we prepared magnificent meals for the entire family, -- all eleven of us!  

That bond I shared with my mother, and the countless hours we spent prefecting old recipes and creating new ones, formed the basis of my love of cooking.

She not only taught me  how to cook the old-fashioned way, but also passed on an enduring quality I'll always treasure -- her passion for cooking.  She taught me to love the whole process of cooking, the planning, shopping and the preparation.  But her greatest gift was to instill in me that sense of personal pride and attention to detail that makes a good meal extraordinary -- taking a little extra time and putting that special touch into presenting meals we prepared so lovingly.

Several years ago I experienced a life changing event -- the death of my sister.  This had a profound effect on my life: it gave me the courage to pursue a career that incorporated my passion for good food and cooking.  With this same passion, I am committed to providing you and your family healthy and delicious meals that you'll remember and appreciate for years to come.

Being a personal chef allows me the opportunity to prepare an exciting variety of fresh, healthy and delicious foods every day.  It also enables me to meet a lot of wonderful people - my client families.  The best part of my job is seeing the enjoyment they get from having a great meal at home with their families every night - without any of the hassles, stress, or worry that used to accompany dinner.  For many of my clients, it's as if a burden has been lifted from their shoulders!"

Cathy is a graduate of the Culinary Business Academy's Culinary Arts and Mentorship Program.  She has been awarded the title of Personal Chef.
